Eldora, part of the POWDR Adventure Lifestyle Co. portfolio, recently unveiled a new branding campaign celebrating its 55-year history as Boulder County’s playground. The resort is also in the midst of installing a new 6-pack chair—its first high-speed detachable lift.

“I’m thrilled to join the Eldora team and help make our local resort a centerpiece for Front Range communities,” says Bass. “Eldora is an incredible resource, and it’s one of the best things about living in Boulder and raising my kids here. Boulder Burgundy Wine Festival Tickets On Sale Now!

Now in its seventh year, the Boulder Burgundy Festival (October 13-15) is thrilled to welcome New York Times wine writer Eric Asimov as our featured speaker and guest.

Eric has been the chief wine critic for the Times since 2004, and he is also the author of one of our favorite wine books, How to Love Wine: A Memoir and Manifesto (2014).

One of the things that set the Boulder Burgundy Festival apart from the many excellent wine events that take place across the U.S. each year is the gathering’s convivial spirit. From the Paulée-Inspired Lunch at Flagstaff House to the family-style seating at the Saturday evening producer dinner at Frasca Food & Wine (the festival’s signature event, where Eric Asimov will be joining us), there is perhaps no better way to get to taste and interact with some of the leading names in food and wine today.

As in years past, we will also be joined by top sommeliers, including many Master Sommeliers, who fly in from all over North American to pour at festival events. Each volunteers her or his time inspired by professional camaraderie and a shared mission to educate our guests about the extraordinary wines presented at the festival. Spots fill up quickly, so please be sure to register at your earliest convenience to ensure availability. BoulderBurgundyFestival.com

The Post Brewing Company to Open in Boulder This Fall

Dave Query, Chef/Owner of the Big Red F Restaurant Group, has struck a deal with the Emich sisters, which will close on September 20.  The location, currently Shine Restaurant & Gathering Place, was previously home to Redfish New Orleans Brewhouse, and, many years ago, it was also home to Oskar Blues when the company outgrew their Lyons brewing facility. Query and Chef/Partner Brett Smith plans to bring the award-winning fried chicken and beer from Lafayette to downtown Boulder. The restaurant and brewery will be in the literal shadow of Query’s first Boulder restaurant, formerly Q’s, in the Hotel Boulderado which opened in 1991. In addition to the restaurant space and production brewery, The Post plans to offer a full calendar of local and national live music.

The kitchen, led by Chef/Partner Brett “Smitty” Smith, will serve The Post’s award-winning, gluten-free fried chicken and roasted bird, local farm fresh sides, and homemade desserts. Rotating Blue Plate specials will offer diners a taste of regional American classics, and bar menu featuring beer, wine, and straightforward hand-shaken cocktails will also be available to lovers of the bird.
