Join us for a wonderful day of golf to benefit the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless

The Boulder Shelter for the Homeless will host the 23rd Annual Boulder Shelter Golf Classic, June 12, 2017 at The Fox Hill Club in Longmont, Colorado.  The event will gather 144 golfers for a day on the links and will raise significant funding for the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, a nonprofit organization that provides safe shelter, food, support services and an avenue to self-sufficiency for homeless adults in our community.

The tournament is presented by Cook, Bradford & Levy LLC and Xilinx; other major sponsors include First Western Trust, Medical Administrative Professionals, Boulder Police Department, and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

The tournament begins at 10am and the format is a four-person modified scramble.  Individuals or teams may register ($140/player, $500/foursome), and corporate sponsorships begin at $1,000.

All golfers will enjoy 18 holes, breakfast by Evol, and dinner by Pasta Jay’s.  Pollard Jeep will provide a car for one of our Hole-in-One prizes.  Golfers can also win great prizes by taking part in our putting contest and in competitions for the longest drive and the drive that lands closest to the pin on a select hole.

Proceeds from the tournament support the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, which serves more than 1,500 adults each year.  This year, with the help of 1,200 community volunteers, the Shelter will serve 100,000 meals and provide 45,000 bed nights of service.  In addition to these basic emergency services, the Shelter offers a year-round Transition Program in which working, sober adults can regain self-sufficiency and move into independent housing.

Flatirons Chamber Music Festival: Crossing The Divide Presents
Music Of,  By, And For The People

At the pinnacle of humanity, music resonates as a living bridge between centuries, continents and cultures. It has amplified the voices of the oppressed and celebrated the glories of Nature.  It has linked composer to performer to listener; weaving their sorrows, laughter, hopes and dreams, into a single rich tapestry.

It is with great excitement that eleven professional chamber musicians are traveling from homes and institutions around the World to share this tapestry with the people of Colorado. By stepping beyond silos created by traditional performance venues and stuffed-shirt stereotypes, it is their hope that Colorado’s people and amazing environs will add the unique beauty of their own warp and weft to this collective artistry.

In this inaugural season (June 9-18), the Flatirons Chamber Music Festival will be inviting and encouraging members of the community to attend open rehearsals, pre-performance workshops, and a variety of other interactive events.  The culmination will be celebrated with three interactive programs:  June 16 Opening Night: “Crossing the Divide,” at The Canyon Theatre; June 17   Chamber Music at the Barn, at Ruby Red Farm; and June 18 Grand Finale at eTown Hall.

Each program will feature chamber music and musicians of the highest caliber, with the final concert featuring the World Premiere of a work by the Festival’s composer in residence, connecting classical music with contemporary life experience, venue, community and occasion.  For more information about the Festival, please visit:
