Parting Thoughts 4

With Dan Alleman, DDS

What brought you to Boulder?

I am originally from North Canton, Ohio. When I was 16, I visited Colorado for the first time on a backpacking trip to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. From that moment, I pursued turning the dream of living here into a reality. After graduating from dental school in Buffalo, NY I packed up my car and headed West as fast as I could.

What is one thing you want readers to know about you?

I believe that dental care should be affordable, delivered using a comprehensive approach to total body health, and performed utilizing the latest digital technology available. Our practice is committed to individualized care and treating people the way we want to be treated if it were us in the chair, not just another number. Our office staff consists of some of the kindest, most caring people I know, and I’m proud to have them on our team.

Tell us about who you are as a person outside of your profession. What is something you are passionate about?

I have always enjoyed “living outside.” Boulder has allowed me to live outside with my wife and two children by snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, cycling, and camping. My wife and I enjoy big rides like RAGBRAI and the Triple Bypass, which we did for the first time this past summer. Trust me, it’s not easy, but several rides up to Ward or Jamestown will get you ready!

What’s your favorite part of a new year?

It’s exciting to plan out the year in advance while reflecting on the year that’s about to end. I see it as a new beginning or perhaps a new way of approaching daily life.
