When my wife, Kate, and I recently realized that this issue was the five-year anniversary of Boulder Lifestyle, there was a wide range of emotions. My initial reaction was disbelief but soon followed by an overwhelming sense of gratitude. We truly could not be more humbled and thankful for what the last five years have brought.
Perhaps it is because there are so many transplants in Boulder, and people all seem to have been there at some point, but the welcoming nature of the residents and business owners was more than we could have ever expected.
Aside from obvious things like having kids, these are my TOP TEN moments of the last five years. I’m still very disappointed in the solar eclipse, so definitely no mention of that on here:
#10 Having String Cheese Incident Keyboardist, Kyle Hollingsworth, recently join us for a couple of tunes at The Post Brewing Co.
#9 Discovering that while there are hundreds of IPA’s on the market, we need not look further than Avery.
#8 The Rayback Collective opening their doors.
#7 Five years of Boulder Lifestyle “Derby Days” Kentucky Derby parties and seeing how much money all the attendees were able to raise for There With Care, Attention Homes and TRU Care.
#6 Watching my wife and our two oldest kids (ages 6, 7) cross the finish line of the 2017 Bolder Boulder.
#5 Surviving the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival with my wife and three young children.
#4 Enjoying the 2017 Telluride Bluegrass Festival with my wife (sans kids).
#3 Dead & Company playing Folsom Field for my 40th birthday in 2017. (I keep telling myself they showed up just for me.)
#2 Watching my Kansas City Royals win the 2015 World Series after falling one run short in 2014, and twenty nine years of miserable baseball prior to that.
#1 Seeing a community come together to help their fellow man, woman, and child, following the devastating floods of 2013.
We thank you for allowing Boulder Lifestyle to present the good news of our amazing community!
